Uganda 2010

Blah blah blah… I don’t really have much to say but I have a few hours of free time so I feel like I should write since my opportunities for Internet access will be limited this year.

So here is a list of randomness:
-Traveling sucks and airline seats must be getting smaller
-I got a hotel in London for the day while my partners explored the city- best money I have ever spent!
-Watching the sun sneak above the horizon line while flying above a seemingly endless thick sheet of clouds is a breathtakingly beautiful sight
-I get carsick now- this is new…
-Seeing monkeys just hanging out is still awesome
-Far less people yell munu (white person) when I walk through town- I am no longer a novelty
-A take away coffee shop opened in town- If you read my blog last year, you know that this is wonderful and amazing for me
-A take away coffee shop opened in town- Who is it serving and who does it benefit? Does it help or hurt the local people and economy? I’m not quite sure yet…

That is it for today… miss you, love you

  1. Good to hear that you are safely in Uganda! What an adventure/experience! I'm sure this journey will give you many wonderful things that will change your life. You are giving ... but also receiving. You are so right ... "education does make change!" Be safe ... be smart ... I worry about you. I look forward to your "blogs." Love and hugs, Auntie M.

  2. 1) airline seats are getting smaller. We are not getting fatter.
    2) London food sucks; you didn't miss much
    3) they have cars? Does car in Uganda = stretch Humvee prom limo in America?
    4) Maybe they no longer yell munu because you're blending in so nicely...?
    5) pictures of said monkeys and purveyor of coffee are requested. - Vaughn
